I recently had the pleasure of receiving an impromptu call from Charlie Smith, the editor of the Georgia Straight. He called me to request an interview on a different story, but that didn’t pan out. Crossed wires about my entitlement to speak on behalf of a marginalized community. It happens.

However, Charlie is a consummate professional; an old school journalist who is always on the lookout for news of note. So he asked me, “Well then, what’s going on in your life, Breen?”
